Certification Maintenance Hours

A CMH is 60 minutes spent in professional development activity as a learner and participant.

American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA): CMHs are accumulated through participation in non-ASHA CEU activities for the purpose of maintaining your CCC. Individuals must accumulate 30 Certification Maintenance Hours (CMHs) during each 3-year interval to maintain their certification and submit a Certification Maintenance Compliance Form as verification.

National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT®): Page 18 – “Receive mentoring from a currently certified occupational therapy practitioner or other professional in good standing to improve the skills of the protégé.” “Participate in a professional study group/ online study group designed to advance knowledge through active participation.”  2 hours = 1 unit. May earn up to 18 units.

American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS): “Professional Presentations: (Maximum of 5 credits cumulative across subcategories in each 3-year cycle.)”
Non-peer reviewed presentations (each worth 1 MOSC credit):
– in-service presentations
– presentation to professional groups
– presentation to client-based groups
– presentation to community groups
– panelist at forum
